Brauberger zu Lübeck opened on 3 May 1989 in a merchant house on Alfstraße, a few steps from the Trave, and is the last working brewery on Lübeck's old town island. The copper brewhouse stands in the middle of the taproom, and the beer is stored in the Romanesque vaulted cellar of 1225 beneath the building. Harald F. Berger founded the house; Thomas Rosenhahn took it over in 2006 and brews on two days of the week. The unfiltered Zwickelbier is the core of the range, joined by the Brewship line.
