Velikonoční pivo 11

Tap to rate

The Velikonoční pivo is the green Easter beer of the castle brewery in Břeclav, an eleven-degree brew made for the holiday. Beers there are made the old Czech way: decoction on two mashes, Czech ingredients only, ten days of fermentation in open vessels and weeks of lagering. The brewing water comes from the Kančí obora.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with soft, grainy malt notes underscored by a gentle noble-hop character that suggests Saaz. Bread-like esters emerge from the long fermentation in open vessels, giving way to a clean, mineral backdrop derived from the Kančí obora water. No harsh alcohol or oxidative notes intrude.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and well-balanced, with a malty sweetness that never turns cloying. The mid-palate develops a bready character and crisp hop bitterness in equal measure, while the finish remains dry and refreshing. The 22 IBU provides restraint, allowing the traditional Czech brewing technique—two-mash decoction and ten days of fermentation—to shape a clean, rounded profile.
