Kanec 10 Chmelený

Tap to rate

Properly bitter and golden: this ten-degree Kanec is hopped four times, and only with Czech varieties. Each addition comes at set times and in set amounts, so that a pleasant hop aroma and taste survive despite the higher bitterness. Pilsner and Munich malts go with Sládek and Žatecký poloraný červeňák hops. It is the extra-hopped ten of the Kanec range, brewed in Břeclav's castle brewery.

◐ Taste

Entry brings a crisp, bitter bite that builds through the mid-palate—the four hop additions have layered in a complex, persistent bitterness that stays well-integrated. The malt provides a soft, slightly sweet counterbalance of Pilsner and Munich character, but remains restrained, allowing the hop complexity to lead. The finish dries steadily as the bitterness extends, leaving the palate clean and refreshed.
