Světlý ležák 12°

Czech Republic·Czech Premium Pale Lager
Tap to rate

Permon's pale lager is built on Pilsner malt with a little caramel malt, hopped with Žatec hops and fermented in open vessels in the traditional way. It stays unfiltered and unpasteurised, without colourants or additives. Malt and hops are held in balance: a bread-like fullness from the malt, a pleasant hop bitterness and a hop aroma on top. A Czech lager with a small craft twist from the brewery in Sokolov.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Světlý ležák 12°

◎ Appearance

Pale golden hue with bright clarity and a fine, persistent white head that clings to the glass in delicate lacing. The carbonation is moderate and even, creating a gentle effervescence typical of traditionally fermented lagers. The unfiltered character shows as a slight haze that catches the light without obscuring the beer's luminous colour.

◌ Aroma

Inviting, balanced nose led by noble hop character—herbal and gently floral—layered over a clean, bread-like malt foundation. Subtle caramel sweetness emerges beneath, contributing a soft roundness without dominating. The open fermentation lends a crisp, dry quality to the bouquet, with no yeast-driven fruitiness or sulphur.

◐ Taste

Entry is full and slightly sweet, displaying the malt's biscuit and bread character immediately. The mid-palate maintains this malty base while a pleasant, moderately firm hop bitterness emerges and gradually takes hold. The balance tilts gently toward the hops' herbal bite in the finish, though the malt's fullness never recedes, creating satisfying tension throughout.

◑ Finish

Dry and lingering, with the hop bitterness extending into a crisp aftertaste that leaves the palate refreshed. The malt's warmth fades gracefully, leaving only a subtle caramel memory and the noble hop's clean, herbaceous signature.
