Barghest
Barghest is a session-strength stout introduced in May 2025 and named after a spectral beast of Yorkshire folklore. The grist combines extra pale malt with oats, chocolate and crystal malt and roasted barley; the hop is Bramling Cross. Coffee and dark chocolate lead, joined by a vanilla-like sweetness, some caramel and a hint of dark berry fruit. The oats make the body smooth and rounded, and the roast stays gentle rather than burnt, with a soft, lightly bitter finish. A nitrogen-dispensed version is also sold.
