Zuster Agatha

Tap to rate

Fruit, currants and lightly roasted malt mark this dark 10% quadrupel. The start is full and robust, the finish surprisingly light and dry. Zuster Agatha is where the Muifelbrouwerij began: in 2006 an agency from Den Bosch wanted 500 litres as a Christmas gift for its clients, and the first batch was brewed and bottled at the Maaslandbrouwerij in Oss.

◐ Taste

The entry is full and robust, with dark malt sweetness and dark fruit flavors establishing an immediate presence on the palate. The mid-palate balances this richness with subtle bread and spice notes, while restrained bitterness (30 IBU) keeps the beer from becoming cloying. The finish arrives with surprising dryness, shedding the initial weight and leaving a clean, grainy aftertaste.
