Maredsous Triple
Served in the abbey on special occasions. The bouquet layers fruit with banana, raisins and other dried fruit over a touch of caramel that recalls sweet syrup. A slight spiciness and yeast character join in, the bitterness stays soft in the background, and the sweetness contrasts with 10 % alcohol that leaves a warming finish. Refermented in the bottle, aged for two months in the cellar.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.
The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
Drink within 2 years. Some complexity develops with age but the yeast character is best relatively fresh.
