Foggy & Dry

Tap to rate

A hazy non-alcoholic IPA with a big citrusy blast from the hops, featuring a huge dose of the strawberry-grapefruity Strata and the tropical-tangerine dream Sabro. Lagunitas, which began on a kitchen stove in Northern California in 1993, brews everything in Petaluma today. After the Heineken takeover in 2017, Tony Magee remained Executive Chairman.

◌ Aroma

Vibrant citrus and tropical fruit leap from the glass, led by candied grapefruit and tangerine notes from Sabro and Strata hops. Beneath the hop-forward character, subtle white bread malts provide a soft, biscuity foundation. The nose remains clean and inviting without alcohol warmth, allowing the hop aromatics to dominate without sharpness.

◐ Taste

Entry is clean and juicy, with immediate grapefruit and strawberry flavors that evolve toward ripe orange in the mid-palate. The body remains light and refreshing despite full hop character; bitterness registers as moderate and well-integrated rather than assertive. Residual sweetness from the malts balances the herbal bite, creating an engaging bitter-sweet tension.

◑ Finish

Medium finish with lingering citrus and a gentle herbal dryness that fades cleanly. The absence of alcohol heat allows flavors to resolve gracefully without warming the palate.

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

Finding a similar Alcohol-Free IPA

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same hazy, tropical, citrusy character as Foggy & Dry will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
