Rhubarbe Tilquin – Draft Version

Tap to rate

Rhubarb in a dry frame, and not sharp. This is the lighter version of the Oude Rhubarbe: the same recipe with 250 g of fresh rhubarb per litre, but a blend of half Meerts and half one- and two-year-old lambics brings the strength down to 4.6 %. Spontaneously fermented and blended at Gueuzerie Tilquin in Bierghes.

◐ Taste

Dry entry with clean rhubarb character that avoids harshness, supported by the Meerts base. Mid-palate brings structured sourness and light funky notes from the one- and two-year-old lambic components. Crisp acidity and tannin backbone provide grip without overwhelming the fruit; the 4.6% ABV keeps the body delicate and refreshing.
