St-Louis Kriek Lambic

Tap to rate

Luc Vanhonsebrouck, the first non-Brussels lambic brewer, went on to create St-Louis as a purely West Flemish beer. This bright red-brown kriek smells of ripe Oblacinska cherries with a hint of almond and subtle wild yeast. The first sip is fresh and fruit-forward, a sweet cherry hit balanced by a light, refreshing sourness; mild effervescence and a smooth finish follow. 4 % ABV.

◐ Taste

The entry is clean and fruit-driven, delivering a sweet cherry hit that sits comfortably at the forefront of the palate. A light, refreshing sourness emerges mid-sip, cutting through the fruit sweetness with crisp acidity and preventing cloying. Mild tannins and a touch of yeasty complexity round out the mid-palate, while the low bitterness allows the cherry character to remain the focal point.
