◎ Appearance

Deep garnet to black in color with excellent clarity and a rich, creamy tan head that persists beautifully. The beer displays the hallmark darkness of Belgian strong dark ales, with a velvety appearance that hints at the complex malts within. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, creating fine, persistent bubbles.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with enticing dark fruit aromatics—ripe plums and dried cherries—layered beneath warming alcohol and subtle licorice notes. Belgian yeast character provides spicy, phenolic undertones that complement the dark malt base, with hints of vanilla and toasted grain in the background. A complex, inviting bouquet that evolves as the beer warms.

◐ Taste

The palate is rich and full-bodied, leading with flavors of plum and dark stone fruits before transitioning into chocolate and malty sweetness. The moderate 30 IBU bitterness is well-balanced, allowing the warming alcohol presence (8.5% ABV) to add complexity without harshness. Mid-palate reveals vanilla and licorice notes that enhance the overall sophistication.

The finish is smooth and velvety with a lingering warmth from the alcohol, leaving pleasant residual dark fruit and subtle spice on the palate. A sophisticated aftertaste that rewards contemplation rather than demanding immediate next sips.
