Czech Mates presents a deep golden hue with excellent clarity and bright light transmission. A dense, creamy head forms and clings persistently to the glass, leaving substantial lacing as the beer is consumed. Fine carbonation is evident throughout the pour.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with the characteristic spicy and floral profile of Saaz hops, accompanied by subtle herbal notes that suggest gentle earth and resinous undertones. Beneath this hop character lies a rounded, bread-forward malt foundation from the double decoction mash, with light caramel sweetness adding depth without dominance.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with soft malt sweetness—bready and subtly caramelized—which is immediately balanced by Saaz's distinctive spicy and floral hop expression. A rounded, measured bitterness builds through the mid-palate, never aggressive, and integrates cleanly with the malt foundation to create a harmonious whole.
