Beers similar to Czech Mates
hopIQ found 10 beers that share Czech Mates's noble-hoppy and herbal character. Czech Mates is a Czech-style pale lager brewed in Burleigh Heads together with a traditional brewery from České Budějovice, whose lager yeast it uses. The mash follows the Czech double decoction method, and the beer matures for up to eight weeks before packaging, with Saaz as the only hop. It pours deep gold under a dense, creamy head. Decoction brings malt flavours of bread crust and light caramel, balanced by the spicy, herbal and floral character of Saaz and a rounded bitterness that fades into a clean finish.
