Beskydský ležák

Czech Republic·Czech Premium Pale Lager
Tap to rate

Brewed as the brewery's first beer in March 2013, this pale lager rests on Beskydy mountain water, barley malt and Czech hops. The brewery calls it full-bodied and as bitter and rugged in taste as life in the Beskydy mountains. Pilsner and caramel malts with Premiant and ŽPČ hops, 11° Plato. Its reputation carried it from the Beskydy to Ostrava, Brno, Prague and Slovakia.

◌ Aroma

Noble hop character leads the nose with restrained herbal and spice notes typical of Czech varieties. Beneath lies a clean malty base—soft bread grain and light caramel sweetness from the Pilsner and caramel malts. The Beskydy mountain water allows the ingredients to express themselves without harshness, creating an aroma that is inviting rather than assertive.

◐ Taste

The palate opens full and round, with the malt structure providing a substantial foundation despite the moderate 4.8% ABV. Bitterness arrives gradually and builds through the mid-palate with a rugged, authentic quality—neither sharp nor overwhelming. Caramel sweetness and a grainy, bready character balance the hop bite, while the finish remains remarkably smooth and drinkable.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and lingering, with noble hop bitterness persisting gently on the palate. A clean, mineral aftertaste reflective of the mountain water leaves no cloying residue, only a clear invitation to the next sip.
