Kernel Dunkel

◎ Aussehen

Deep mahogany to nearly black in the glass, with excellent clarity allowing the color depth to shine through. A dense, off-white head forms and clings to the glass with good persistence, leaving fine lacing on the walls. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, creating a refined visual presence.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with clean, toasted malt character—notes of dark bread crust and subtle roasted grain without harsh edges. A whisper of herbal, earthy hop presence sits beneath the malt foundation, while the fermentation is neutral and unobtrusive. The overall impression is restrained and malt-forward, inviting rather than assertive.

◐ Geschmack

The palate opens soft and approachable, delivering malt sweetness upfront with notes of biscuit and caramel that give it body without heaviness. A gentle bitterness emerges in the mid-palate—drier than a traditional Munich Dunkel—that balances rather than dominates, supported by restrained noble hop character. The 4.4% ABV keeps the beer refreshing and drinkable despite its dark appearance.
