Dhustone

◎ Aussehen

Deep black with mahogany highlights at the rim, revealing excellent clarity despite the style. The nitrogen-conditioned keg version develops a dense, creamy head with fine retention and pronounced lacing. Bottle-conditioned versions show slightly less carbonation intensity but maintain a stable collar of foam.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with pronounced roasted coffee and dark chocolate notes from the black and roast malts, layered with subtle vanilla and cocoa. A soft liquorice undertone emerges beneath, while the Fuggles, Progress and Columbus hops contribute restrained floral and earthy notes without dominating the malt-forward character.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is smooth and approachable, with roast bitterness developing gradually across the mid-palate rather than asserting itself immediately. The 35 IBU provide moderate, clean bitterness that balances the malt sweetness without harshness. A silky mouthfeel carries cocoa and subtle vanilla through to the finish, with the low 4.3% ABV keeping the beer light and drinkable.

◑ Abgang

The finish is clean and relatively short, with residual roast character fading into a gentle liquorice note. No harsh drying or astringency remains, making this stout remarkably sessionable.
