Rivington Brewing Co
Rivington Brewing Co was founded in 2014 by Ben Stubbs and Mike Richardson, who started on a small kit at a dairy farm in Anderton. Today the brewery sits at Home Farm in Rivington, Lancashire, overlooking the reservoir, where its taproom opened in 2019. A 20-hectolitre brewhouse turns out around 2,500 hectolitres a year, about a fifth of it in cask. The focus is on hazy, hop-forward pale ales and IPAs led by the flagship Never Known Fog Like It, alongside lagers, stouts, fruited sours and barrel-aged ales; everything leaves the farm unfiltered, unfined and unpasteurised.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.

Their beers place in the Top 58% of the catalogue on average, across 9 ranked beers. Consistent rather than spiky — no single standout carrying the rest.
