Pivovar Mazák was founded in 2011 in Dolní Bojanovice, a wine village in South Moravia eight kilometres west of Hodonín. Owner and brewer Jiří Michalovič had brewed at home for friends for two years before; in 2017 he turned a hall at the village edge into a modern craft brewery with a five-vessel brewhouse and batches of up to 1,400 litres. Czech and German lagers sit beside Pale Ales, IPAs, sours, goses and stouts, up to 90 different beers a year, all unfiltered and unpasteurised.
