11 Jantar

Czech Republic·Czech Amber Lager
Tap to rate

Deep amber in the glass, with gentle caramel notes, plenty of malt fullness and a medium-full, malty body. Light hopping and a pleasant bitterness, typical of Czech lagers, round it off. Pilsner, Munich and caramel malts meet the Czech hops Žatecký Poloraný Červeňák and Agnus. Jantar was the very first batch the brewery ever brewed, followed by Extra hořká, and both remain its mainstays among the lagers.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with substantial malty sweetness and moderate body, delivering the promised fullness across the mid-palate. Pilsner malt foundations provide a subtle breadiness, while caramel notes add depth without cloying. Bitterness arrives gently and settles into a pleasant, balanced finish—restrained by Czech standards yet present enough to prevent sweetness from overwhelming.
