Pivovar Konrad
At the foot of Ještěd, the brewery in Vratislavice nad Nisou near Liberec opened on 24 January 1874 and soon exported as far as Vienna; Emperor Franz Joseph I visited in 1891. After a closure in 1998, brewing restarted on 25 May 2000 under the Konrad brand. Today it brews Czech lagers at 10° to 12°, plus strong, dark, top-fermented and alcohol-free beers, using water from its own well in the Jizera Mountains, Saaz hops and in-house malt. A brewpub and a brewery shop sit on the site.
