An independent family brewery in Neer, Limburg, founded in 1870 when Willem Geenen brewed his first beer in a shed beside an eighty-year-old linden tree — the tree the company takes its name from. It draws water from its own spring and holds the Slow Brewing Excellence certificate, awarded for its long cold maturation, which it states makes it the only Dutch brewery in the programme. Alongside the Lindeboom and Venloosch lines it produces the Gouverneur speciality beers.
