Grolsche Bierbrouwerij
Grolsche Bierbrouwerij, commercially known as Royal Grolsch, was founded in 1615 in Groenlo (then called Grol) by Willem Neerfeldt, making it one of the oldest breweries in the Netherlands. The brewery relocated to a modern facility near Enschede, which has been its operational home since 2004. Grolsch received the Royal designation in 1995. In 2016 it was sold by AB InBev to the Japanese company Asahi Breweries as part of a regulatory divestment linked to the AB InBev–SABMiller merger. The brewery is internationally recognised for its swing-top bottle.
