Baron Brewing
Baron Brewing is a one-man brewery run by Jack Baron on a farm in Great Hormead, East Hertfordshire. Planned during lockdown and trading since late 2021, it works with a 1,000-litre brewhouse and five fermenters that are refilled roughly every three weeks. The focus is on heavily hopped pale ales and IPAs, alongside lagers and occasional dark beers. Fuzz, a hazy pale ale, is the only beer brewed regularly; everything else is a one-off or an infrequent repeat. The beer is sold in cans and kegs, and a taproom on the farm opens on about twenty days a year.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Fuzz
Their beers place in the Top 77% of the catalogue on average, across 3 ranked beers. One clear standout well ahead of the rest.
