Blanc de Brute

Tap to rate

Blanc de Brute is delicately vinous, in harmony with Solaris and Pinot Blanc grapes, and sparkles very finely. It spent long years in the barrel, part of that time on the fine lees of the grapes, and the brewery says it comes as close to the border with wine as a beer can. The 2022 edition is a limited new take on the popular 2019 batch, and the beauty of the Mikulov vineyards shows in every sip.

A restrained funkiness adds complexity without dominating—more mineral than feral.

◐ Taste

The palate opens crisp and vinous, with a mineral-driven acidity that frames orchard fruit and subtle white wine characteristics. Mid-palate unfolds with elegant dryness and a fine tannic grip; the low bitterness (10 IBU) remains nearly imperceptible, allowing the funky, yeasty complexity to emerge as the defining character. Finishes clean with a lingering tartness.
