Smooth Seas presents a distinctive heavy, milky haze characteristic of a modern Double IPA, with a deep golden-straw hue that catches the light with subtle warmth. The cloudiness comes through Hefe, creating an opaque, textured appearance. Head retention is robust, with fine lacing clinging to the glass throughout the pour.

◌ Aroma

The nose floods with a generous tropical-fruit character—fresh stone fruits and citrus—backed by a prominent vanilla sweetness reminiscent of freshly baked cupcakes. Noble hops layer in their characteristic florality, balancing the confectionary notes without tipping into artificial territory. The aromatic profile is complex and immediate, signaling its Double IPA intent from the first inhale.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with an assertive, juicy hop character delivering Navel orange, creamsicle, and white chocolate notes in succession. The beer is full-bodied with a luscious, creamy mouthfeel built on subtle milk-sugar sweetness that neither cloys nor oversimplifies. Bitterness arrives cleanly on the mid-palate, cutting through the richness with measured assertiveness typical of the Double IPA style.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and extends with pleasant lingering bitterness that gradually subsides. A soft vanilla-cream note persists in the aftertaste, leaving the mouth refreshed rather than fatigued.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
