Little Fawn

Tap to rate

A session-strength IPA built on a grain bill of Irish malt only and hopped with Mosaic. It pours pale gold and clear under a white head. The nose is led by blueberry, passionfruit and grapefruit, and the same fruit carries through the palate over a light, clean malt base. Bitterness stays mild and lingers gently in the finish. The name comes from the legend of a child found on the slopes of Ben Bulben by the hounds Bran and Sceolan.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright, stone-fruit character: blueberry and passionfruit dominate the top notes, accompanied by distinct grapefruit zest. A clean, grassy background suggests the Mosaic hop's herbaceous facets. The Irish malt base provides a subtle, neutral foundation that allows the hop aromatics to shine without competing mineral or sweet notes.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with a light, crisp malt backbone typical of session strength, allowing the fruit character to develop immediately. Blueberry and passionfruit carry through the mid-palate in harmony with subtle citrus notes, while bitterness remains restrained at 40 IBU—present enough to define structure but mild enough to preserve drinkability. The finish is dry and gentle, with the fruit fading into a soft, lingering bitterness.

◑ Finish

The aftertaste trails softly, allowing the passionfruit and grapefruit notes to linger briefly before fading. The bitterness departs as a gentle, almost sweet impression rather than a sharp bite, leaving the palate refreshed and ready for another sip.

Serve at 7–10°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
