Fōm presents a pale golden hue with excellent clarity and fine, persistent carbonation. The head forms a thin, stable collar that clings to the glass walls, leaving clean trails of lacing with each sip. The overall presentation suggests a refined, well-structured lager despite its IPA classification.

◌ Aroma

The nose is immediately dominated by citrus and floral hop character—lemon zest, white grapefruit, and delicate herbal notes from the Motueka and Citra varieties blend with the peppery, resinous quality imparted by the hop kief. Beneath these vibrant top notes, a subtle grain sweetness from the corn and rice adjuncts provides a clean, understated foundation without any harsh oxidative or vegetal edges.

The palate enters dry and crisp, with a light body that allows the hop resin and citrus character to take center stage without heaviness. The mid-palate carries sustained hop bitterness and a piney, slightly mentholated finish typical of Southern Cross, balanced by the beer's restrained malt sweetness and the smooth interplay of corn and rice. Bitterness is present but refined—punchy rather than aggressive, never becoming astringent.
