Woodland Creatures

Tap to rate

Woodland Creatures is Left Handed Giant's favourite milk stout and returns regularly on a tried and tested grain bill of crystal and roasted malts. Cinder toffee goes in on the hot side and pistachio after fermentation, while lactose gives the sweetness its base. The nose brings roasted nuttiness and sweet marzipan with a woody, rum-like character, and the body is warming and rich. Nutty, sweet and silky overall, at 6.9%.

Entry is smooth and creamy from the lactose base, revealing pistachio as a mid-palate note that adds distinctive green, almost savory character. The roasted Malz foundation delivers cocoa and toast complexity, while bitterness remains restrained at 18 IBU—present but never sharp, allowing sweetness to frame the flavor.
