Country Funk

Tap to rate

Tart and slightly funky, a lightly tart, minimally funky mixed culture ale. Country Funk is a 5.5% ABV ale made with a proprietary blend of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Brettanomyces, aged for 20 months in oak puncheons. The brewers call it a new, old mixed culture ale that is as original as it is relatable, and add that country is more than guitars and big hats. Label art by Skyler Wells.

◐ Taste

Entry is clean and moderately tart, with the sourness building smoothly across the mid-palate without sharpness. Oak tannins provide gentle structure and a drying quality, while the mixed-culture yeast contributes a dry, slightly funky character that feels integrated rather than jarring. Minimal bitterness (15 IBU) keeps the focus on acid and wood.
