🌍 Germany · Alcohol-Free Lager · One of 49 Alcohol-Free Lagers in hopIQ

Flensburger Frei has been made since 1993 from the brewery's Pilsener, which has its alcohol removed by vacuum rectification once brewing is complete. It pours bright golden with a stable white head. The nose shows herbal hops with hints of hay and lemon. The body is very lean and brisk, carrying lime, lemon and grassy notes. Bitterness builds from the first sip and runs into a dry, finely bitter finish that stays with the palate for a long time.

Aroma

The nose leads with pronounced herbal hop character, displaying the signature Edelhopfen profile expected from the brewery's original Pilsener. Subtle hay and fresh lemon notes emerge underneath, creating a clean, garden-like impression without any vegetal harshness or solvent notes typical of dealcoholized beers.
