🌍 Brazil · Alcohol-Free Lager · One of 28 Alcohol-Free Lagers in hopIQ

Skol Zero Zero is the brand's alcohol-free beer, first poured at the São Paulo carnival in February 2026 and rolled out nationwide that July. It is an all-malt lager fermented until the yeast has converted all of the grain sugars, after which the alcohol is removed completely. Because nothing is left unfermented, it drinks dry rather than sweet: light grainy malt and a faint cracker note, very little hop bitterness, a thin body and a short, crisp finish. The brewers aimed for a flavour close to the original Skol.

AI-generated sensory profile for Skol Zero Zero

Appearance

Pale straw yellow with excellent clarity and a bright, white head that forms readily and clings to the glass in fine lacing. The carbonation is crisp and visible, with steady bead rising through the body. The overall impression is clean and inviting, characteristic of a well-made pale lager.

Aroma

The nose opens with light, grainy malt notes and a subtle cracker sweetness that feels bready rather than sugary. Hop character is restrained—there is little to no noble hop spice or floral complexity, keeping the profile centered on the grain. A faint mineral note suggests clean brewing water, and there is no yeast-derived fruitiness or esters.

Taste

The palate is dry and crisp from the outset, with malt-forward flavors of grain and bread crust forming the core. Bitterness is minimal and integrated rather than assertive, allowing the clean, straightforward malt character to dominate. The body is light and easy-drinking, with no residual sweetness or astringency, and the finish arrives quickly with a clean drying sensation.
