First Futures

◎ Appearance

First Futures presents a hazy, sun-kissed golden-orange hue with excellent clarity despite its deliberately cloudy character. A soft, pillowy white head forms on the pour and maintains gentle lacing as the glass empties. The body reads medium-full, with fine carbonation evident in its soft, sustained fizz.

◌ Aroma

The nose bursts with bright citrus zest—primarily orange peel and grapefruit—layered atop ripe tropical stone fruit: mango and passionfruit. A resinous pine character threads through the background, supported by delicate floral notes that suggest the Edelhopfen's full aromatic range. Malt remains restrained, allowing hop expression to dominate.

◐ Taste

The palate opens juicy and medium-full, with mango and passionfruit taking center stage, supported by orange peel and a whisper of stone fruit sweetness. Bitterness arrives clean and restrained—at 80 IBU it provides structure without aggression—keeping the tropical fruit expression in focus. A light, crisp malt backbone allows the hops to sing without feeling unbalanced.

◑ Finish

The finish is notably dry and crisp, shedding the fruit sweetness quickly while leaving lingering tropical and floral hop notes that invite the next sip. Aftertaste remains bright and hop-forward, with a faint resinous whisper that fades gracefully.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
