Erdinger's non-alcoholic wheat beer, below 0.5 percent, is brewed from wheat and barley malt with the brewery's own top-fermenting yeast. Since 2001 the brewery has marketed it to athletes, and within a few years it became Germany's best-selling non-alcoholic beer. In the glass it shows a golden haze under a large head. The flavour pairs spicy malt with caramel-like sweetness, set off by a lively bitterness from aroma hops and a hint of light, fruity acidity. Fine carbonation keeps the body fresh and brisk rather than heavy.
