Boskeun

Tap to rate

Boskeun is West Flemish for wild rabbit, and the beer is brewed once a year for Easter, one of Belgium's first Easter beers. Fruity in the aroma with a touch of honey, soft on the palate and long and soft in the finish. Pale malt, Golding hops from Poperinge, organic cane sugar and honey; unfiltered, unpasteurised and refermented in the bottle at 9%. A new drawing by Benjamin Herteleer accompanies each spring batch.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and rounded, the pale malt providing a delicate, slightly sweet backbone. The mid-palate fills with honeyed fruitiness and a whisper of noble hop bitterness that never sharpens; organic cane sugar dissolves into the texture without cloying. The body remains light yet pillowy, finishing with a lingering sweetness balanced by subtle hop dryness.

Serve at 6–8°C

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.

Pint glass

The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.

Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same fruity, smooth, honey character as Boskeun will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
