Gerardus Blond

Tap to rate

A blond monastery beer, once the table beer of the monks themselves, based on a recipe from the fathers of the Redemptorist monastery in Wittem. It smells of fruit and spice and is malty on the palate. Part of the turnover helps maintain the monastery. Served at 10 to 12°C, it suits smoked trout, salad, grilled chicken and steak. 6.5% ABV, brewed in Gulpen, Limburg.

Serve at 6–8°C

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.

Pint glass

The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.

Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.
