Merakels
Yellow fruit and pear from Belgian yeast, a light fresh spiciness from coriander and a soft bitterness in the finish: this tripel stays fairly dry and supple despite 8% ABV. Fresh whey from cheese-making goes into the brewing water for a full, soft mouthfeel, a fitting nod to the former Limmen cheese warehouse that houses the brewery. Merakels is West Frisian for extraordinary or great. Brewed since 2012, available year-round.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.
The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
Drink within 2 years. Some complexity develops with age but the yeast character is best relatively fresh.
