St-Feuillien Grand Cru

◎ Appearance

Pours a very pale, brilliant blond with excellent clarity. The head is fine and airy, leaving delicate lace on the glass as it recedes. Carbonation is evident and well-integrated, supporting a persistent, refined presentation.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with bright citrus notes of lemon zest and white grape, followed by subtle stone fruit impressions of pear. A gentle herbal quality from Styrian Golding hop flowers provides earthiness, while honeyed malt adds a soft, delicate sweetness beneath.

◐ Taste

Entry is light and clean, allowing the palate to settle before a measured bitterness builds steadily through the mid-palate. Noble hops assert themselves with a refined character, while flavors of white pepper, fresh hay, and honeyed malt create nuanced depth. The alcohol at 9.5% remains well-masked.

◑ Finish

The finish is long and composed, dominated by noble hop character and a gentle white pepper warmth. A dry, clean aftertaste lingers with faint hay notes and restrained bitterness.

Warmer than most — 12–14°C. The fruity esters, spice and warming alcohol need room to breathe.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
