◎ Appearance

A deep ruby-brown hue catches the light with translucent intensity, revealing the careful roasting of barley in the grain bill. The head is compact and stable, clinging to the glass with fine adhesion as the beer settles. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, supporting the visual weight without excess effervescence.

◌ Aroma

Aromatic herbs and spices dominate the nose, layered with the influence of caramelised malts that have undergone long cold maturation. A warm, baking-spice complexity emerges alongside subtle herbal notes, while roasted barley contributes a faint toasted edge that anchors the bouquet without asserting dominance.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with round, smooth caramel and toffee notes, followed by layers of dried fruit that develop through the mid-palate. Bitterness is deliberately restrained, kept low by careful fermentation and maturation; instead, the warm spice and herbal character build complexity without harshness. A subtle roasted edge emerges on the finish, balancing the residual sweetness.

The finish is lingering and warm, with caramel and toasted grain notes persisting gently on the palate. A faint herbal dryness rounds out the aftertaste, leaving a composed and satisfying impression without astringency.

Serve at 9–12°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
