◎ Appearance

Crankshaft presents a bright pale golden hue with excellent clarity and a fine, persistent white head that displays good lacing retention. The carbonation is crisp and well-integrated, creating a lively visual presence in the glass without excessive foam.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with a pronounced floral character from the Ekuanot and Simcoe combination, layered over distinct citrus peel notes and resinous pine undertones. The Citra and Centennial provide additional brightness, while a subtle caramel sweetness from the malt base sits in the background without dominating the hop-forward profile.

◐ Taste

Entry is clean and medium-bodied with a malt backbone that leans toward caramel notes, grounding the bitterness rather than sweetening it. Mid-palate reveals the full complexity of the hop blend—piney, citrus-forward, and distinctly floral—building into a firm, measured bitterness that develops smoothly rather than harshly. The finish stays dry and lean, with no residual sweetness to soften the hop bitterness.

◑ Finish

The aftertaste is crisp and lingering, with the hop character—particularly the pine and citrus elements—persisting cleanly on the palate. Bitterness fades gradually without leaving any harsh or metallic notes, characteristic of the traditional West Coast approach.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
