Sea Salt & Lime Gose

Tap to rate

This gose was first brewed in 2022 with Maldon for the salt maker's 140th anniversary. Lime zest and juice go in towards the end of fermentation, and a Philly Sour yeast souring during fermentation replaces a kettle sour. The beer is vibrant and tart with a bold fruit aroma; sea salt from Maldon adds a balancing salinity that lifts the citrus notes. At 3.5 % it is a light take on the German Gose.

◐ Taste

Tart entry with pronounced lime flavor and gentle acidity from the sour yeast character. The sea salt amplifies the citrus notes across the mid-palate, creating a complex interplay between fruit and salinity that feels refreshing rather than harsh. Minimal bitterness (10 IBU) allows the salt and lime to take the lead, while the low ABV keeps the body light and approachable.
