Krushfield

Tap to rate

Krushfield was brewed to mark the brewery's sixth birthday. The recipe follows the triple dry-hopped version of the flagship IPA, with all of the Citra replaced by Krush. German malts form the grist, Mosaic and Krush go into the kettle, and three dry-hop additions follow. The beer is golden and slightly hazy, with intense peach, orange, guava and passion fruit.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with pronounced stone fruit and tropical character—ripe peach, orange zest, and guava lead the composition. Passion fruit adds a bright, slightly tart dimension that underscores the Krush hop's signature profile. A subtle malt backbone from the German grain bill provides structure without dominating, allowing the three rounds of dry-hopping to remain the focal point.

◐ Taste

The palate entry is clean and fruit-forward, with peach and orange flavors establishing themselves immediately. Mid-palate reveals the complexity contributed by Mosaic and Krush—a layered interplay of citrus and stone fruit with a subtle herbal undertone. Bitterness registers at a moderate 60 IBU, providing balance without sharp edges; the finish leans toward the fruity side rather than a pronounced hop bite.

What is a American IPA?

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

Finding a similar American IPA

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same hoppy, peach, fruity character as Krushfield will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
