Beers similar to Alba Barrel Aged

Spruce Beer·United Kingdom·11% ABV·One of 2 Spruce Beers in hopIQ·

hopIQ found 10 beers that share Alba Barrel Aged's malty and oaky character. Amber-brown, hazy Viking-style spruce and pine ale of imperial strength, brewed in 2011 for aging in whisky casks from Islay. Peat, oak and whisky on the nose, then peat, oak, spruce and pine with some acidity. Plenty of malty, sweet notes, plus a hint of funk. Unfiltered and un-fined to keep its full character.
