That gives a deep, sweet caramel with a smoky edge the malt bill alone would not produce: toffee, brown sugar and a faint char over a full, slightly syrupy body. Hallertau and Willamette keep the bitterness low, so nothing much cuts the sweetness, and the beer opens up further when it is served closer to cellar temperature than to fridge cold.
