Deep black-brown body with minimal light transmission, characteristic of the Foreign Extra Stout style. A dense, tan head forms quickly and clings persistently to the glass, leaving distinct lacing with each sip. Carbonation appears moderate and well-integrated, creating a smooth visual impression.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with roasted malt character—coffee grounds and cocoa powder dominate the initial impression. Beneath this foundation lie subtle notes of dark chocolate and sticky date, while East Kent Golding contributes a gentle earthy spice that anchors the profile. The Columbus hop presence remains restrained on the nose, allowing malt complexity to hold the foreground.

Entry is full-bodied and creamy, with oats contributing a smooth, velvety mouthfeel that coats the palate immediately. Mid-palate unfolds with layered malt sweetness—cocoa, coffee, and hints of sticky date pudding build richness without cloying. The Columbus hop bitterness arrives steadily at 60 IBU, cutting through the malt and providing a clean, dry counterpoint; Golding adds an earthy spice that lingers into the finish.
