◌ Aroma

The nose opens with pronounced resinous pine and citrus notes, leading with grapefruit and lemon zest. Beneath the hop-forward profile lies a clean, subtle malt foundation that grounds the aromatic profile without overwhelming it. There is no notable yeast expression, allowing the noble hop character to dominate the olfactory experience.

◐ Geschmack

On entry, the beer delivers immediate citrus and piney hop bitterness that is direct but restrained, appropriate to the 50 IBU specification. The mid-palate reveals a light, clean malt base with subtle honey-grain sweetness that balances the hop intensity without masking it. The finish is relatively dry, with the resinous character persisting gently through to the swallow.

The finish is clean and moderately dry, with lingering piney and citrus notes that fade over several seconds. The aftertaste remains hoppy and slightly astringent, typical of the West Coast IPA style and true to the beer's memorial purpose.
