DRK presents a rich chestnut to ruby-brown hue, characteristic of a well-crafted dunkel. The beer pours beneath a dense, creamy head that clings to the glass with good retention, suggesting a full-bodied structure and balanced carbonation.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with prominent bread crust and roasted grain notes, grounded in the heavily roasted barley and caramel malts of the blend. A secondary layer of subtle spice emerges from the restrained hop character, without overshadowing the malt-forward profile.

◐ Geschmack

The palate unfolds with espresso and dark chocolate notes in the entry, followed by milk chocolate, molasses, and walnut in the mid-palate. The light spiciness from the hops provides definition without harshness, while the 22 IBU maintains balance against the malt complexity without drying the beer.

◑ Abgang

The finish remains clean and dry despite the depth of flavour, with roast notes fading gracefully into a whisper of spice. The aftertaste is brief and refreshing, avoiding the heaviness one might expect from such a flavourful dunkel.
