Opperbacco
Founded in 2009 by agronomist and brewer Luigi Recchiuti in a renovated stable surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and orchards between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso Mountains in Notaresco, Teramo. Named after the Caravaggio painting of Bacchus. One of Italy's most awarded craft breweries — consistently in Italy's top 10 on Untappd — known for the 'Nature' series Italian Grape Ales using Montepulciano and Trebbiano grapes fermented with native yeasts, alongside classic lagers, ales, and seasonal specials. Recognised in Slow Food's Guida alle Birre d'Italia with multiple Birra Imperdibile awards. The flagship of Abruzzo's craft beer renaissance.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.

Their beers place in the Top 59% of the catalogue on average, across 18 ranked beers. One clear standout well ahead of the rest.
