Lost Signal

Tap to rate

Schwarze Rose first brewed Lost Signal back in 2021 and has now revisited it. Oats and wheat give the hazy IPA a soft, pillowy body, and Ekuanot, Cashmere and Galaxy go in as the dry hop. The result: layers of tropical fruit, citrus and lime, subtle herbal notes underneath and a dry finish, all at 6.5 % ABV.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Lost Signal

◎ Appearance

Lost Signal presents a pale golden hue with a distinctly hazy, opaque character throughout. The turbidity comes from suspended yeast and grain matter rather than chill haze, creating a soft, cloudy appearance. A modest white head forms with moderate retention and light lacing along the glass.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright tropical fruit notes—mango and passionfruit—underscored by pronounced citrus, particularly lime zest. Beneath these bright Edelhopfen characteristics lies a gentle herbal earthiness that adds complexity without dominating. The oat and wheat bill contributes a soft, bready grain sweetness that rounds the aromatic profile.

◐ Taste

The palate entry is soft and pillowy, delivered by the oat and wheat combination, with tropical and citrus flavors mirroring the nose. Mid-palate develops a smooth, clean body with moderate bittering from the 50 IBU; the hops sit back rather than asserting themselves aggressively. The finish turns dry without harshness, allowing subtle herbal notes to linger.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and moderately dry, with citrus and lime holding through to the aftertaste. No residual sweetness remains, but the overall impression stays refreshing rather than austere.
