Lone Pine

◎ Appearance

Amber hue dominates the glass, displaying clear transparency with bright light transmission. A creamy, persistent head forms and clings to the glass walls with strong lacing. Carbonation is moderate and even, supporting the foam structure throughout the drinking experience.

◌ Aroma

Pine resin and grapefruit open immediately, establishing the hop-forward character. Beneath the citrus lies a dank, pungent note of onion and garlic from Summit, layered with earthy spice from Simcoe and Columbus. Subtle caramel and toffee from Crystal 45 and Caramunich malt provide backbone without masking the aggressive hop aromatics.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with pronounced hop bitterness and piney character that commands immediately. Caramel and toffee malt sweetness builds through the mid-palate, providing structure and preventing the beer from becoming one-dimensional, though the hops maintain clear dominance. Spicy-hop notes from the quartet of varieties create complexity, with Summit and Simcoe contributing onion-garlic dankness alongside resinous drying sensations.

◑ Finish

The finish is long and drying, with resinous pine lingering well into the aftertaste. Bitterness remains firm and sustained rather than fading, leaving the mouth clean and prepared for the next sip.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
