◎ Appearance

Deep mahogany to near-black in the glass, with excellent clarity despite the beer's weight and complexity. The dense, tan head builds quickly and persists with fine lacing that clings to the sides throughout the pour. Carbonation appears restrained but sufficient, creating a creamy visual presentation befitting the style.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with roasted malt character and dark stone fruit—plum and raisin—layered beneath. Vanilla and cacao notes emerge cleanly, joined by subtle tobacco and molasses warmth. The alcohol is well-integrated, adding depth without harshness; no solvent or off-notes present.

◐ Taste

A full-bodied entry brings toffee and dark chocolate sweetness across the palate, with molasses and caramel providing structure. The cacao and vanilla additions read as authentic, complementing rather than dominating the underlying malt profile. Bitterness is restrained at 30 IBU, allowing the roast and fruit to remain in focus; alcohol warmth surfaces in the mid-palate without becoming obtrusive.

◑ Finish

The finish is long and warming, with lingering chocolate, tobacco, and roast character. Residual sweetness remains balanced by dry roasted grain notes, ending with a gentle, persistent alcohol glow.

Serve at 10–13°C. Too cold mutes the roasted complexity that makes a good porter worth drinking slowly.
